How to utilize social media in today's time for your campaigns.

Social media is one of our generation's most used tools all across the world. It connects people, provides creative freedom, and has given many people their platform/career. It is funny to think that social media can be a career but there are multiple ways to make it happen. Whether you’re an influencer with brand deals or a social media manager for different companies like the NBA, NFL, high fashion, makeup brands, etc.

Public relations is all about connecting with the public. Social media provides you with an outlet to reach the entire population of the world with one click on your cellular device…terrifying or awesome? That’s up to you to determine. If there’s a change or conflict with your campaign it is so easy to alert the public by utilizing social media. There are many different outlets to express yourself or your company on social media. From videos on YouTube to posting images on Instagram you can do it all through social media.

When creating your campaign it is important to remember to include as many important details as you can without filling it up with so many words. In today’s generation the fewer words the better. Being concise is more important today than ever because of our audience’s attention span. When using social media, you’re scrolling through content, so what is your campaign going to do to stand out and make the scrolling stop? There are many answers to that question, but it all starts with design. When creating a campaign you want your design to be less subtle and more flashy so that it really grasps your audience’s attention. Another important thing to consider is having recognizable names promote your campaign. Today there are many people online with millions of followers who promote businesses for a living, so utilizing those people to get their followers to pay attention to your campaign is a great idea.

Designing for social media is very tricky because you only have so much space to design, and if there is too much in that condensed space it will look chaotic and the message will get lost. Things to keep in mind is that your audience on social media ranges from ages 15-35 and that is a large demographic, so keeping them all in mind is not an easy task. The one thing I will say is very important is to get your detailed information across in a timely manner. If you put an article of details about your campaign, the odds of someone reading it all are very slim. Keep the design simple, but make it stand out, now I know that’s a contradictory sentence, but let me show you!

In this Spotify graphic, I used so many familiar faces that Spotify promotes, but used very minimal words. In a sense you have to keep people wanting more, in a campaign you’ll link “more information” but you never just provide all the information first. Make your audience want more and keep them on their toes!

“Utilizing social media and Canva are amazing ways to up your company’s brand.”

Canva is by far my favorite tool to use when making campaigns, It has so many helpful tips while you design whatever you please. There are also templates and elements that will enhance your design and make it stand out. Although there are templates, the many different ways that you can change them are what make everything look unique and fresh. You can change the fonts, colors, and even elements of the templates and make them fully your own.

There are so many different outlets online today that can enhance your campaigns and company brand. Utilizing social media and design outlets such as Canva can put your company on the next level and reach so many different audiences that you never would have without them.
